Corral Canyon

Today we took a drive up the Pacific Coast Highway to find a hiking trail.  We had planned to go to Escondido Canyon but apparently a lot of other people had the same idea as there were no parking spots in the vicinity, so we decided to go to Corral Canyon instead.  The drive up the PCH is beautiful but very busy with it being a Sunday and people still in holiday mode. It is difficult to find a parking spot but did manage to find one along the highway.

Corral Canyon was less popular which was pleasant  because at times we felt like we had the trail to ourselves. The trail is a narrow, dusty trail that winds its way upwards through sage scrub and dry grasses with no shade. The entire trek took an hour and fifteen minutes and gave us spectacular views of the ocean.

Following the hike we stopped at a seafood eatery (The Reel Inn) across from the ocean and had mussels and sea bass before heading back home to Fox. Fox is Dawn's dog who cannot tolerate walks in the heat so he stays at home and we make sure our excursions don't leave him at home too long.

Tonight we are going to see the movie Grudge Match with a couple of Dawn's friends.

I hope everyone is enjoying the snow. 😂
